| About the artist
Born in Rochdale in 1947, Beverley Anne Little attended Rochdale College of Art before studying for a Fine Art degree at Loughborough College of Art. She went on to gain an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, tutored by celebrated artists including Peter Blake, Sandra Blow, Peter de Francia, Ruskin Spear, Carel Weight, Donald Hamilton Fraser and, occasionally, David Hockney.
After graduating in 1972, Little left London for Huddersfield, where she continued to paint voraciously. It was here that she started a family – giving birth to two daughters and gaining her own experience of the theme that has so informed her work.
Little is now the respected Pathway Leader for the University of Huddersfield’s BA (Hons) Fine Art, Painting & Drawing course, inspiring a new generation of young artists.
